Job Title: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)

We are looking to expand our team by adding an experienced and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to help support our growing practice.

Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dynamic team. The EFDA will play a crucial role in supporting the dentist and ensuring smooth, efficient patient care throughout all stages of treatment. This position requires someone who is capable of handling a wide variety of clinical duties with expertise and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, including taking X-rays and preparing materials.
• Perform expanded functions such as placing and carving fillings, applying sealants, taking impressions, and assisting with crown and bridge procedures.
• Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.
• Manage patient records and assist with treatment planning and scheduling.
• Educate patients on post-treatment care and preventive oral health practices.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of dental treatment rooms.
• Manage inventory and order supplies as necessary.
• Provide support in patient management and make patients feel at ease throughout their visit.

Qualifications:

• Must be a licensed and certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) in [Ohio].
• Previous experience in a dental assistant role, with a focus on expanded functions, is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures and treatments.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of dental software and charting systems.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
